Russ, the HQ wod from yesterday was pretty good. It was the right wod for me after the Thanksgiving Day Massacre wid I did with Steve in Minday.
I liked it, but I know I could have done better with a teammate pushing me. The three sets of back extensions started to take their toll. I think my addition of the second 800m run to close was needed to balance out the wod, but that's just my opinion.
Upon review of the comments from the last CFT post, I discovered that the one we know as "Junior Varsity" or "JV" for short, relinquished his name in favor of a more becoming name, "Nitro J" due to his performance. I was not here on that day to witness the renaming, however since then I have not heard anyone call him by this name.
Who will show up today I wonder...Junior Varsity or Nitro J?!
The name "Nitro J" is in NO way associated with performance. This label is nothing more than a lame attempt to profit off a well known trademark. WARNING: Any further use of this name will lead to utter embarassment. Come to the box, put up your best effort... Turbo J will crush your shit one handed, offering a head start, and nursing a stab wound.
caleb bw155. 290pr/145/340=775pr compared to previous 275/135/335=735 I definetly think doing heavier metcoms (i.e. dungeon master and yesterdays c&j155) and great overall programing can be attributed to my gains in strength
39y / 199bw Did the Front Squat/Weighted Pull-ups 5RM today. Managed to get 250# on the FS (pr), and took down 60#'s on the pull-ups on my third set. Attempted 70# on set 4 and got to 3 reps, but the weight was smashing my jewels pretty badly on the kip so I never made it to my fourth. Never did a weighted pullup 5RM so I'll take it
Brannon 184bw. 225/115/375 (PR) I was disappointed in my press today as I failed at my previous CFT weight of 140 twice. I have really been focusing on form and depth in my squat and although I didn't increase from the last CFT, my form is improving which will hopefully lead to gains down the road. My strongest lift is the DL by far...increased by 10 lbs from before.
Sherry...114bw...135/70/215 PR on DL and Backsquat. Press was same as last CFT in August.
I wanted to work on muscle ups, so I followed with 20 rounds: 5 pullups 10 dips
ends up being:100 pullups (50 dead hang to start and then 50 kipping c2b)and 200 stationary dips non kipping. I didn't time it obviously because I had to take time in between the rounds so I could keep consistant form with the pullups.
caleb- heavy & fast at high intensity will get you faster results than light & fast at high intensity...but don't take my word for it - just look at the numbers. obviously, form/technique must be damn near perfect before you go heavier...obviously :) great job on the pr's!
pete- strong effort for it being your first time for a 5RM.
brannon- that is the whole key. once you get the body in correct alignment, the proper muscles will get recruited which in the long run, will get you stronger. keep it up, you will see soon enough...
steve c- fucking hilarious!
rob ger- some days the dog gets you. we live to fight another day...rest up and recover.
sherry- how are you feeling today after 100 strict pull ups and 200 dips? i have one word for ya - RHABDO lol

the infamous and elusive Nitro J has since been more or less ninja-like in that he's in and out of the box and no one even notices.
